Date night has always been a top priority for Jake and me. It’s a great time to check-in, reconnect and take some time for yourselves.
When we were long distance, that meant renting the same movie or whipping up the same dinner recipe over Skype. We’re so thankful to not only now live in the same place but in an awesome city with so many fantastic places to go.
That’s why I wanted to start documenting our date night activities as we explore more of Portland. Hopefully, we’ll provide you with some great ideas for your next night out.
We’re HUGE movie people, especially during the rainy weather in the winter months.
That’s why when I discovered the indoor Pop-Up Cinema at Hotel deLuxe, I knew it was perfect for our next date night.
They show classic Hollywood films on designated Sunday evenings throughout the month. For October, they are showcasing some Halloween favorites. We went to a showing of The Birds (and I will say it’s amazing what people used to think was really scary!).
Watching the movie is totally free. You just have to make a reservation ahead of time by calling the hotel. They offer cocktails, popcorn and small bites from their bar, the Driftwood Room.
