Happy Wednesday everybody, and welcome to my first gift guide of 2020! Today, I’m sharing my gift guide for the foodie in your life.
Jake and I both definitely consider ourselves foodies; it’s hard to live in Portland and not to! However, if you aren’t a foodie, buying a gift for one could be quite intimidating. What if you buy the wrong type of coffee or cheese?!
That’s why I have 26 gift ideas that will impress any food lover.
One of the best gifts I think you can give a foodie in 2020 is an experience.
We have yet to do a Masterclass, but they have an incredible array of culinary and wine experiences taught by some of the best chefs in the world.
Airbnb is also offering all sorts of online cooking classes like this one based in Portugal, where you learn to make Peri Peri chicken. Yummm
“Of the Month” clubs are also a great option. I bought my dad this Salami of the Month club from famed Portland charcuterie restaurant, Olympia Provisions. How about a cheese of the month club?
Williams Sonoma has tons of food delivery options like this “Five Days of Vegetarian Entrees” from local Portland restaurant, Elephant’s Delicatessen.
Gift Guide for the Foodie 2020
1. extra long cheese board // we could all use an extra long cheese board.
2. fondue set// who doesn’t love fondue?! And with us all still staying at home, this would make for a really fun date night in.
3. indoor herb garden // PERFECT for the city living foodie.
4. salt block // GREAT gift for dads. I got one for my dad several Christmases ago and he uses it all the time.
5. spicy margarita infusion kit // use this kit to infuse tequila to elevate your cocktails! They have tons of different combos as well.
6. Murray’s Cheese Greatest Hits// for the cheese lover in your life, this gift set includes everything from English cheddar to Manchego. Murray’s is an old-timey, world reknown grocer in NYC, offering an impression selection of gift sets for your foodie friends.
7. Le Creuset Dutch Oven // this one is a splurge, but this was one of the best wedding gifts we received. We use it all the time for soups, stews, ciders, etc. It also cooks amazingly evenly with everything.
8. foodie dice // the foodie dice set from Uncommon Goods might be one of the best gifts I’ve seen in 2020. I have this fantasy where I stage a chopped style competition with my friends and family at home, and this is exactly what I need to make that happen.
9. family recipe cutting board// this is a really sweet gift for parents. You send them your favorite family recipe, and they put it onto a wooden cutting board.
10. pasta maker // another great pick-up for at-home date nights.
11. edible flowers // I’m not sure exactly why I want edible flowers, but I trust that I can make something really cool with them.
1. churro maker// this gets me really excited as I haven’t had churros in YEARS being Celiac. It also looks surprisingly easy to use.
2. mulling spices // a good little gift that you can enjoy yourself too!
3. guacamole saver // there’s nothing worse than brown guacamole a day after you made it. That’s why this handy guac saver is awesome! It presses all the air out to prevent it from going brown.
4. herb wand // this handy kitchen gadget help herbs and oils go on easier.
5. cocktail sugar cubes // just add liquor for a quick old fashioned or manhattan.
6. reusable bowl // love cool little lunch bowls like this.
7. lemon saver // we really just have half cut lemons and limes all over our kitchen. Love the idea of this lemon saver.
8. silpat muffin // our Silpat baking sheet liners are some of our favorite kitchen products. I am SO excited that they have them in muffin form now!
9. herb saver // this kitchen gadget is one of the best things we bought in 2020. It keeps your herbs fresh for weeks.
10. spice carousel // this is just the coolest thing. We have a terribly messy spice drawer.
