Boy, are you overwhelmed already by all the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale business?! Me too! LOL
I spent the morning at the mall shopping, and I wanted to share some Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks that I actually bought today as well as some other close calls. I also wanted to give you a look at what some of these items look like on human in the 6-8 size range.
This post (and over on Instagram) is going to be a little bit of a stream of consciousness narrative; I’ve got so many great picks (most under $60!) to share with you that I’m going to be updating this thread throughout the evening and this weekend, so keep checking back.
For now, I’m going to get things started with one of my favorite things to shop for during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: activewear. This is a great time to stock up on solid workout gear from brands like Zella, Alo Yoga and Sweaty Betty.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks: Activewear
Zella Live in Plank Straight Leg Yoga Pants in Green Urban, Sale: $29.90 (After Sale: $64.00)
–Sizing: Medium, fits well, but are really long. I will need to get them hemmed.
–Takeaways: I am obsessed with this color. It’s like a lighter/grayer olive green. The pants are incredibly flattering on. The length is the only part I second guessed, but good things Nordstrom offers alterations!
Sweaty Betty Breeze Long Sleeve Run Tee in White, Sale: $59.90 (After Sale: $90.00)
–Sizing: Large, Runs TTS, but I’ve been looking for some looser workout tops
–Takeaways: So right now this exact top isn’t online anymore, but here’s it in a short sleeve version. I’ll keep my eye out for re-stocks! But I love the little detailing on the top.

Zella Live in High Waist Leggings in Black, Sale: $38.90 (After Sale: $59.00)
–Sizing: Medium, fits great. Definitely still a little long for someone 5’4.
–Takeaways: I own a pair of these and really love them. I just didn’t need another pair of black leggings to be honest. I included these leggings in a black leggings roundup a few months ago, so more details on them here!
Sweaty Betty Breeze Crop Racerback Performance Tank in Infinity Blue, Sale: $42.90 (After Sale: $65.00)
–Sizing: Medium, Runs TTS, but a little shorter than I enjoy wearing to work out.
–Takeaways: Again, I love the detailing of this Sweaty Betty designs, but it was just a little too cropped for my liking, and that’s why I didn’t end up buying it. If you don’t mind that though, I’ve heard great things about this workout brand!
Adidas Badge of Sport Tank, Sale: $20.90 (After Sale: $28.00)
–Sizing: Medium, Runs TTS
–Takeaways: This is an AWESOME basic workout tank. No need to have tons of fancy workout clothes. A tank like this will get the job done perfectly well. Also in black and pink.

Patagonia Los Gatos Fleece Jacket, Sale: $89.90 (After Sale: $129.00)
–Sizing: Small, Runs TTS. I would actually have preferred a Medium to give me a little more room.
–Takeaways: Anytime you can snag Patagonia on sale, go for it! Their items are really high quality and are perfect for hiking, after workouts, etc. Also, the fabric on this is super soft. Also in a khaki color.

One thing that I’m SUPER bummed is out of my size in this deep green Zella hoodie ($58.90). The good news is…it’s available in a light pink and ivory in all sizes and large, XL and XXL in the green, so take a peek.

BP Traveling Stitch Sweater in Pink Bouquet, Sale: $35.90 (After Sale: $55)
–Sizing: So pay no attention to the fact that I’m wearing an XL in this; it was the only size left in the store! I ended up ordering a medium. This sweater is oversized so it runs a little big. Also comes in a pretty bright green.
–Takeaways: This is just a really fun sweater. I love that it’s not too pink; it’s more of a pink/lilac in person, and it has really fun bubble-ish sleeves that aren’t overwhelming big. Also, does anyone else get really hot in sweaters?! I feel like this one’s looser knit will allow for me to get some breeze under there!
AG The Farrah High Waist Ankle Skinny Jeans, Sale: $149.90 (After Sale $225)
–Sizing: Fits TTS and nice and stretchy, which I love. I have them in 28 and 29, and both fit well. They also haven’t stretched out in two years of wearing them.
–Takeaways: The pair are wearing are my own from a few years back! They’re one of the few “designer jeans” that I own. This is a great pair for curvier bottom half girls. I’m wearing these in all of the sweater and jacket photos.
Madewell Ryder Cardigan in Antique Cream, Sale: $64.90 (After Sale: $98)
–Sizing: Medium. Runs a little large, but I don’t mind that.
–Takeaways: Well, I feel like a total basic bitch that I bought this cardigan, but it is really cute and very comfortable, so what can you do haha. I have this cardigan in a few different basic colors, and there are plenty of those on sale and in stock as well. Be careful with washing them. Mine have ended up having holes in it when not washed on a super delicate cycle and hung to dry.
Halogen Button Sleeve Turtleneck Sweater, Sale: $49.90 (After Sale: $79)
–Sizing: Medium. Runs a little big, could also get away with a small for a slimmer fit.
–Takeaways: This sweater is totally unassuming, and I feel like a lot of people probably walked right past it because it doesn’t scream look at me. However, I think it’s my favorite sweater purchase of the day. The button sleeve is really cute. I love that it’s a longer tunic-y sweater, and it’s just a really great closet staple. Comes in five different colors.
BP Longline Open Cardigan, Sale: $31.90 (After Sale: $49)
–Sizing: Medium. Fits TTS.
–Takeaways: Great cardigan option for a really good price. Loves that it has pockets, which a lot of the other similar long cardi’s did not have. Comes in five colors.
BP Lace Trim Satin Camisole Top, Sale: $25.90 (After Sale: $39)
–Sizing: Medium. Fits TTS.
–Takeaways: I got this top in both plain black and ivory. Will be an awesome layering piece under cardigans and blazers this fall and winter. I like that it doesn’t dip too low in the front or fit tight across the chest; I’ve struggled to find other satin cami’s that fit that mold. Also comes in a super cool leopard print.
Socialite Long Sleeve Thermal Henley Top, Sale: $24.90 (After Sale: $38)
–Sizing: Fits slim. I ordered this in a large; tried on an XL here. I also just wanted it a little looser than hugging the body.
–Takeaways: I’m really excited about this top, because I feel like I will honestly wear it all the time. Love that it’s long. It’s stylish and comfortable… a win win! Also doesn’t come down too low. Comes in four colors and plenty of sizes available online.
Sara Drapey Leopard Print Wrap Top, Sale: $45.90 (After Sale: $69.50)
–Sizing: Medium. Fits TTS.
–Takeaways: Ok, I was totally taken aback by this top, but it is so incredibly flattering on that I had to get it. It would be work appropriate for most (depending on your job of course!), AND suitable for dinner and drinks afterward. It also comes in plain white here.

–Takeaways: Man I really don’t need another Barefoot Dreams cardigan, but boy this is SOOOOO soft and cozy.

–Takeaways: Another really great warm and cozy piece. Love how long it is. Comes in pink and ivory. It definitely can be a little bulky on certain shapes.

Topshop Double Breasted Plaid Blazer, Sale: $69.90 (After Sale: $110.00)
–Sizing: Bought an 8. Runs large. Could’ve sized down, but wanted to wear with sweaters,
–Takeaways: I deem this Topshop blazer best of the plaid blazers this season! It’s got a really relaxed and boxy (in a good way) vibe going on. There’s also little pops of light blue throughout, so it just makes it a little more interesting than some of the other blazers available. Perfect addition for fall if you’re a jeans and t-shirt person.
Aves Les Filles Double Face Wool Blend Coat, Sale: $199 (After Sale: $300)
–Sizing: Wearing Medium, but ordered Small. Runs big.
–Takeaways: So I really tried to not love this coat, but I am totally obsessed. I love all things tartan and have been looking to find a really classic plaid coat. It just excludes chic and luxury.

Thread & Supply Fleece Lined Quilted Utility Jacket, Sale: $58.90 (After Sale: $88)
–Sizing: Wearing Medium. TTS
–Takeaways: I didn’t get this coat (I had to draw the line somewhere! haha), but it is an incredibly functional option for an awesome price. I feel like it’s perfect for fall and winters in the Pacific Northwest, where you don’t have to break out the heavy coat that often. It also is lined with fleece, making it extra cozy.
BlankNYC Record Breaker Collarless Faux Leather Moto Jacket in Fawn, Sale: $64.90 (After Sale: $98)
–Sizing: Medium. TTS
–Takeaways: I think an ivory-blush (p)leather jacket like this is such a fresh look. AND it really transitions well throughout all seasons. Very comfortable and stretchy, but doesn’t lose it’s structured shape. It also comes in black.

–Sizing: Wearing Small. Runs big.
–Takeaways: Who doesn’t love a faux fur coat?! I know it’s barely cracked summer, but this would make for an amazing holiday outfit. Comes in a fun leopard, but love the dark green.
