What to wear to your rehearsal dinner…. Seriously, finding a rehearsal dinner dress/outfit was one of the hardest tasks of the wedding for me. Wedding weekends can feel so strange…all eyes on you.
You don’t want to spend a ton, but you also want to look “almost” as good as your wedding day.
As the center of attention for the weekend, we all want another “wow dress” for our wedding events. But with the financial constraints of a modern wedding, it’s really hard to justify spending $500 on another white dress.
For me, I had trouble finding those dresses in between when we got married last summer. I wanted to spend more than the $50 or $60 I would normally spend on a birthday dress or a vacation outfit, but I just couldn’t help thinking spending $500 on a white dress that I would most likely wear once or twice again in my life was just a waste.
I settled somewhere in between.
We had a welcome party in lieu of a traditional rehearsal dinner, since we had a destination wedding in Montana. It was an incredible way to catch up with friends and family in a real way without the craziness of the wedding day.
For our welcome party, I wore The Nancy Dress from Fame and Partners. It was the right mix of flirty, feminine and classy.
While my wedding dress was very simple and sporty, I wanted to use our rehearsal dinner as a way to have a totally different look. I loved the whimsicalness of the Swiss dot fabric and ruffles.
Also, I added the “Miss to Mrs” clutch for a bit of fun. See below for similar styles!
So consider this post the definitive place for brides-to-be to go who are looking for that perfect rehearsal dinner dress. And while I say dress, I’ve also included a fair amount of jumpsuits as well, because I think that can be a really fun look.
Rehearsal Dinner Dress Round-Up
There’s everything from budget picks under $75 to ones in between to super splurge-worthy dresses and jumpsuits.
I also thought it’d be cool to include “something different” picks ala Sophie Turner at her rehearsal dinner in France. Because who says you have to wear white?!
I absolutely LOVE the idea of color for this occasion. She also asked her guests to don all white to the rehearsal dinner. This IS all about you and your fiance, so do whatever you want to do when it comes to style!
This Fame and Partners dress would be a stunner for anyone looking for a little red rehearsal dinner dress.
STYLE TIP: If you want a high priced piece without the hefty tag, try searching through the sale and clearance sections at places like Shopbop, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales. My favorite brands to look for that often have perfect wedding party styles and can usually be found on sale: Self Portrait, Fame and Partners, Alice McCall, Likely and For Love and Lemons.
