Gingham Week: The Best Gingham Shoes

Does any print conjure summer quite like gingham?!  I have been loving the options this spring from head to toe.  Today’s post is all about the latter.  I’ve got a full rundown today of the best gingham shoes under $150 to help you put your best foot forward all summer long.

I think the the best and easiest way to experiment with a bold print or color is through shoes and/or accessories.  And there’s really something for everyone out there right now too.  I’ve included everything from fun checkered sneaks to sexy lace-up heels.
Did you know…gingham has a bit of a checkered past?!
For one, gingham in no way means checked.  It is thought to come from a Malay word for “separate” or “striped.”  And its wide-use across the world makes its true origin a bit of a mystery.
Gingham entered the English language in the seventeenth century, originally imported from India as a striped textile.   It wasn’t until factories in Manchester, England, inspired by tartans and other plaids, ditched the stripes in favor of the iconic checks that we now have the print loved around the world.
*And a fun fact for all my sports fans:  Manchester United once paid tribute to the city’s history with these gingham kits!

These Ann Taylor gingham bow sandals inspired this post!  I’ve got a bunch of weddings in New England this summer…how cute with these be?!

These Old Navy slides may be my favorite pick out of the bunch.  Not only because they are only $25, but they’re SUPER comfy and surprisingly cushy for basic sandals.

Tomorrow is my favorite round-up of the bunch:  dresses!
