The fashion gods have been seeing stars this year; there has been a ton of cosmic print items out there lately. I’m slightly obsessed with all things celestial. From first grade till probably mid college, I used to sign my name with a star after it. Don’t ask why; someone probably told me I needed to work on my branding early on… haha!
I have since dropped the star from my signature, but I really love star print things, and so when I saw these Stella McCartney star jeans, I knew it was a perfect spring DIY.
Also, at this point in winter, I’m just tired of wearing the same old boring jeans. These DIY Stella McCartney inspired star jeans are going to get me through!
DIY STELLA MCCARTNEY INSPIRED STAR JEANS
what you need: jeans, white paint, fabric medium, paint brush, star stamp
MAKE IT
Mix two parts paint to one part fabric medium in a cup. I used the entire 2 fl oz bottle for this project.
Fully coat the back of the star sponge with paint.
Stamp away! I varied my stamps from front and center to peeking out of the folded part of the boyfriend jeans.
Depending on your stamp (this Hobby Lobby one turned out to be super crappy, so be advised!), you may have to do a little touching up, so just go back in with a small tip paint brush.
Time to heat set. Turn the jeans inside out and put them in the dryer on HIGH for 30 minutes. This sets the paint and allows you to wash these jeans normally in the future.
