Happy Friday everybody! We have had BEAUTIFUL weather here in Portland that’s continuing all weekend long. Our weekend plans include planting a vegetable garden and having a virtual Mother’s Day brunch with our parents. Warm weather also means it’s finally time to pull out the shorts. Today I’m also sharing some of the best Target jean shorts.
Rating criteria for jean shorts are as follows:
– length – as a respectable woman in her 30’s, length is always a top priority for me in jean shorts, and why in the world are all of these jean shorts so DAMN SHORT?! I feel like my butt is hanging out of half of the pairs I try on. Upper mid-thigh is ideal. Sometimes I even size up to have them sag lower.
– thigh space – I have always had muscular thighs from playing leg having sports like soccer and figure skating. Yet it is incredibly hard to find jean shorts to accommodate this. My perfect pair of jean shorts leaves a little breathing room for the thigh.
– comfort – as with any jean, they need to be comfortable.
For this experiment, I tried out five pairs of Target’s best jean shorts. I made my selections by going off of customer reviews. And these were my top two favorites.
Best Target Jean Shorts:
#1: Women’s High-Rise Fray Hem Jean Shorts – Universal Thread, Light Wash, $18 – these are just so damn comfortable! They have plenty of stretch but still keep their shape, which I think is hard to find. They feel like a little more boyfriend style cut with plenty of room in the bum and thigh area.
I normally dislike high-rise styles because they sometimes look unflattering, but I think these do a nice job of flattening your tummy.
Right now, they only have them in the light wash, but I’m hoping they bring them out in other colors.
#2: Women’s High-Ride Distressed Jean Shorts – Universal Thread, Medium Wash, $18
These also are a really great length and have plenty of stretch. I rated them just below the other pair only because they were a tad shorter.
I struggle with jeans and jean shorts that fit my waist and bum, and I usually end up with the dreaded waist gap. This started to do this a little
