December is moving by for me at record pace this year; I feel like I’m still getting out all of my holiday decorations yet we are already two weeks away from Christmas! One thing I always look forward to every year is getting dressed up for Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner, so I wanted to focus today’s post on sharing some Christmas Eve outfit ideas.
Whether your plans include a trip to church this year or just staying in with a small collection of family and friends, I tried to give a lot of different options for outfit inspiration. And many of these things, you probably have in the closet.
Christmas Eve Outfit Ideas
Party Dresses
The party dress is always my favorite choice in any occasion. I love bringing out the reds and greens and shimmery fabrics and sequins this year.
Wore this dress last Christmas Eve… (similar here and here).
Black Pants + Black Turtleneck + Holiday Accessories
Ok this one is a REALLY easy outfit idea to replicate because most of us have a black top and black pants in our closet. Pair with some fun earrings or hair accessories and you’re good!
accessories ideas: Christmas vacation earrings // Clarice Reindeer earrings // Christmas sweater earrings // bow headband // plaid headband
Put a festive sweatshirt or sweater over your favorite dress… or fancy skirts
This is a great anytime of year style hack, but particularly at the holidays. Take your favorite party dress and throw a festive sweatshirt or sweater over it. Belt it or not.
This is a perfect way to buy a fun dress for NYE, but also get multiple uses out of it during the holidays.
festive sweatshirts…one // two // three (also comes in plus) // four (also comes in plus)
dresses to match…one // two // three // four // plus size dress
PJs + Headband
No explanation needed…I will say these Target pjs have been the best thing I’ve bought this December.
I have been wearing these headbands nonstop! plaid // gold
Weekend Reads | 12-11
I picked up these candles earlier this year, and they smell so good…also it’s a great gift from a black owned business.
Obsessed with this sherpa jacket.
I’ve been spending more time on TikTok than IG these days. Here’s a few of my favorite recipes/hacks of the week:
–Christmas Ornament Cocktail – I think I might try this with a Cosmo recipe – that’s my family’s Christmas go-to.
-ok you’ve probably seen these elaborate Hot Cocoa bombs everywhere…wayyyy too much work…here’s a great hack!
I bought this eyeshadow palette during Sephora’s sale, and it is so pretty on. Perfect for spring too.
Just finished the HBO show Industry. A little racy and silly, but it’s fun. It’s like Billions meets Euphoria.
Debating starting Virgin River next…yay or nay?
You need these earrings for NYE, even if you’re staying at home in your pjs.
Let’s talk gifts! One of the best ideas I’ve seen this week is items to upgrade your loved ones’ home office like….
Love this post on “experience gift ideas” to give friends and family, and they’re so easy.
Speaking of experience gifts… have you seen these Neiman Marcus’ experiences?! I meannnn I don’t know who can afford this, but it’s fun to dream haha.
I love wrapping presents so much…a guide to perfect present wrapping.
How to tie a proper bow on your gifts…from Martha Stewart.
Also, IMO, the easiest way to up your present wrapping is to add real fabric ribbon. My dad has been doing this for us since we were kids, and it makes every package look so special. I buy at places like Costco, Joann Fabrics or Michaels.
I really feel like I need this $89 coat. But black or camel? Hmmm.
