Father’s Day Gift Ideas and Weekend Reads

Happy Friday!  Father’s Day is right around the corner, so I wanted to share a big list of father’s day gift ideas for you today.

The guys in my life are the hardest to buy for.  For my dad, grill or backyard activity things are always a good pick.

My husband and brother always like me to pick out clothing for them.  And I always love finding unusual cooking or handy tools from places like Uncommon Goods.

I also shared a bit of fun news behind the name of our store, Confête, this week.  Read more:

C O N F Ê T E // ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ naming a business is tough. I wanted a name that evoked fun, love, happiness, confidence, friendship, gratitude, etc…all the things that fashion and a brand should make you feel. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And in all transparency, I listened to a podcast where Spanx founder Sara Blakely talked about how she had read that made-up names were more successful. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So that's why our store's name is Confête. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here's a few of my favorite images from the photoshoots we've done for @shop.confete and happy to share that we will FINALLY be launching at the beginning of July. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Until then, you can start following along @shop.confete or head to www.shop-confete.com to be the first to know about our exact opening date. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #confetegirl #style #watercolorflorals #smallbusinessowner #prettydresses #ltkdress #ltkbride #instastyle #plussizefashion

Father’s Day Gift Ideas

My dad always loves getting grill rubs like this from my Williams Sonoma.

These leather products are really beautiful.  And it’s a great way to support a black-owned business.

For the Dad who loves Star Wars.

Pizza stones are always a good idea.

For the dad that loves learning.

For the long distance runner dad.

Dad love pulled pork, chicken, etc?  These $13 claw shredders are so cool!

For the dad with a sweet tooth.  Pair with this.

And I feel like this would be awesome for a dad with young kids.

For the dad that likes to sing in the shower.

These beer foaming stones will keep dad’s beer nice and bubbly and this will keep it cold.

Subsciption services make for a gift that keeps on giving.  I got my dad this salami of the month club membership from Portland’s Olympia Provisions.

GQ also offers a quarterly box filled with anything from electronics to grooming products.

For the dad who likes to fish.

Weekend Reads | 6-12

Did you know that Colin Kaepernick got the idea to kneel for the national anthem from NFL long snapper Nate Boyer, who also happened to be a Green Beret?

Need something to watch that is just silly and fun?  Try watching The Lovebirds or The Wrong Missy.

Italian town sells houses for one euro.

I picked up a few pieces from Target’s Love Shack Fancy collaboration AND there’s still quite a bit available online (plus sizes as well!).  I snagged this and this.

This is pretty interesting on how the lovable goofy cops on TV perpetuate the notion of “the good cop.”

As someone who covered NASCAR for years, this is a huge step.

Tik Tok houses in LA are out of control.

This week I shared a reading list of everything I read in April and May.

I also made this graphic for you to save if you’re hoping to read some more books by black authors.

And here’s a book list from Vogue.

Thinking of buying a few of these $16 Amazon workout tanks.

This one-piece looks designer.

Ok Barb from The Bachelor needs to chill!

I’m very intrigued by this DIY dip nail starter kit.

I want to model my whole wardrobe after this blogger.
