Portland Home Renovation Update and Wknd Reads

Hello there!  So as you can tell on social media (or our general lack of being on social media this past month), life has been a little crazy.  Not only are my husband and I launching our new e-commerce site, Confête, in a month, but we also are still in the beginning stages of our Portland home renovation.

And you might be saying to yourself… wait didn’t they buy a home to renovate back in October?  And why yes, you would be correct.  Unfortunately with the holiday season and the lack of available contractors and subs in the area, we’re still waiting to get started, but I wanted to share a mini update.

B I G L I F E U P D A T E : We bought a house 🥂🎊 Picturing my life as an adult wasn't necessarily about getting married or having kids. But it was always about having a house to call my own. So excited to make this house into a home with @jakezivin! Buying a fixer upper of sorts was our goal. Our new home was built in 1911. And while a family took great care of it for 20+ years, it's now ready for another round of updating. So be prepared for lots of home renovation and home decor posts in the years to come! And if you're in Portland, send recommendations our way! * * * * * * #portlandblogger #oregonblogger #liketkit #ltkhome #darlingweekend #revolveme#abmlifeiscolorful #pnwblogger #makeyousmilestyle #abmhappylife #homerenovation#wanderleurspark #dscolor #petitejoys #homedecoration #pursuepretty #flashesofdelight #portland #smallspacesquad #theverygirlathome #sequinsandthings #ltkstyletip #firsthome #weboughtahouse #theeverygirl #currentdesignsituation #finditstyleit #livethelittlethings #abmathome #sodomino

We are getting close!  So far, we’ve worked with a designer/ architect to get our plans fully drawn up.  Luckily our house is in really good shape for it being a 1911 bungalow.

In our plans, we are gutting and updating the kitchen, partially finishing a basement, gutting a master bathroom, building a closet in the master as well as re-doing the master bedroom’s floors.  And while of course surprises may pop up, we’ve been told it will be a three to four month project.Portland home renovation, Portland bungalow, Portland craftsman bungalow, Portland home remodel, 1911 bungalow renovation, first time home buyers, first time renovation

We’ve gone through the contractor interviewing process and are now just waiting for bids to come back to see who is in our price range and timeline, but fingers crossed, we’ll be getting to the real work soon!

I only recently discovered the bloggers, Palm Beach Lately, but I am loving the swimsuits they designed with Vineyard Vines.  And I seriously need this pink and white sweater ASAP.

Bought these $32 Karen Walker dupe sunnies before Argentina.
