Quarantine Activities and Weekend Reads | 3-26

Happy Friday and welcome to another edition of weekend reads!  Since we will be in this uncertain way of life for who knows how long, I want to keep sharing quarantine activities and positive ideas to keep everybody going.

This week, we’ve been really enjoying connecting with our loved ones in different ways.  I wake up and have a coffee date with my best friend each morning.  We catch each other up on what we’re watching and listening to as well as setting productivity and personal goals for the day.

Tonight, we’re having a virtual happy hour and tomorrow we’re having a virtual brunch and dinner party!  I can’t stress enough how important it is to keep checking in on friends and family; as a friend said this week, you can still feel unpopular in this time.

Need some help organizing a virtual get-together?  Google Hangouts, Zoom and House Party are all great platforms for group video chats.  I’ll also be sharing all about how to throw a virtual dinner party next week.

A few adult beverage recipes to try during your next virtual happy hour:

Rhubarb 75

Limoncello Margarita

I’ve been trying to spice up my coffee drinks lately, and I am throughly entertained by “Bradbucks” where Brad Goreski makes his husband a Starbucks drink everyday.

I’m not usually an audiobook person.  But since I’m running out of good podcasts, I might start some of these.

Shelf-stable ingredients to have on hand to bake basically anything.

Things you should be disinfecting but might be missing.

I posted this on IG last week, but if you can, beware of the products you buy at the store and avoid those that say WIC if you can afford other products.  Those with the WIC labels are the only products that folks are able to buy under federal assistance programs, and they’re being bought up by panicked shoppers.

For our virtual family game night, we played an online version of Cranium that this man on Twitter created.  Here’s a link to the google sheet with the game’s information:  online Cranium.

I really want to do a best white t-shirt round-up.  I’ve seen this tee (crewneck version here) recommended quite a bit.  What are you favorites?

Did you see this?!  Some of the world’s most famous museums like the Getty and Uffizi in Italy are offering virtual tours.  Without a doubt, I will be checking these out.

In the attempt to jazz up my daily coffees, I’m tempted to try this Tik Tok fad recipe.

These studios are offering free classes during the quarantine.

Weekend or Easter brunch ideas…I’m making these Cinnamon Sugar Brown Butter Popovers this weekend.

Just bought this soothing neck wrap.  This is a perfect way to end the day.

This would be a good time to re-visit the best Amazon sherpa round-up.

Treated myself to this (20% off) rainbow long-sleeved t-shirt.  Use code TNUCK20.

One website claims these are the best leggings on the internet.

In need of a little treat?  Try this $20 good mood sweatshirt I wore this week.

13 of the best pillows of 2020.
