We’re just about two weeks away from Thanksgiving everyone! And since I’m sure many of you are hard at work planning your feasts, today, I wanted to share seven new Thanksgiving recipes to try this year.
Some folks are staunchly against adding in any new Thanksgiving recipes to the mix. Not me.
While it’s always great to have the old standby’s for Thanksgiving (Jake and his uncles make a delicious Grand Mariner stuffing!), I love adding in one or two new recipes to the mix every year. And over years of doing that, I’ve ended up creating new family food traditions like making my Tyler Florence Whipped Sweet Potatoes.
So below you’ll find everything from interesting side dishes to creative ways to use your leftovers to what to make ahead for breakfast on Thanksgiving morning.
We’ll be heading to Chicago this year for Thanksgiving to spend time with Jake’s family. I can’t wait to relax and spend time with our nephews and extended family.
Another one of my favorite things to do after Thanksgiving is head down into the city to check out all the Christmas lights and decorations. There’s nothing quite like a big city at Christmas.
Seven New Thanksgiving Recipes to Try
Mashed Potato Puffs – The Cooking Jar
Bored of the plain ol’ mashed potatoes, try these mashed potato puffs on for size.
We made these for dinner last week, and not only were they delicious, but they’d be incredibly easy to make ahead, freeze and re-heat on Thanksgiving Day.
This would also be a great way to use your Thanksgiving leftovers.

Maple Walnut Twice Baked Sweet Potato Skins – Diaries of Nia
I chose this recipe because while it looks delicious, it’s also pretty simple and healthy. Planning of trying this with pecans instead of walnuts.

However, sweet potato honorable mention goes to this recipe for Ruth Chris’ Sweet Potato Casserole, which is FULL of sugar and butter and let’s be honest sounds way better.

The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip muffins from this post are great to do this with as well.

Thanksgiving Ring – Delish
This Thanksgiving ring idea from Delish is genius. I am always hunting for new and interesting ways to use our Thanksgiving Day leftovers (sorry all those turkey sandwich lovers!), and this totally hits the mark.
You literally just stuff your favorite Thanksgiving dishes into a ring of crescent rolls and bake.

Or if you’re feeling real adventurous, you can try baking your leftovers right into some rolls.
