Sweet Stays: Holiday House Palm Springs

Palm Springs has always been one of my favorite getaway spots.  It’s been attracting Hollywood starlets since the 20’s, and I love the retro vibes and glamour that remain.  Coming from Portland, it’s really easy to get to, and I’ve ended up going just about once a year for the past few years.  It makes for a perfect romantic getaway or girls’ trip location.  And I’m so excited to share some details on the awesome place we stayed for my best friend’s birthday this time:  Holiday House Palm Springs.

First of all, Holiday House is one of the dreamiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.  Absolutely, everything is picture perfect.

It’s a quaint 28-room boutique hotel in downtown Palm Springs.  It’s location is ideal:  only a few blocks walk to the city’s main drag.

The reception desk and bar is all-in-one.  You’re greeted with rosé spritzers, pineapple agua fresca and love beads when you arrive.

After entering the front door, you feel like you’re walking into someone’s super stylish, retro home, somewhere in the South of France.

C’mon in!

Holiday House Palms Springs’ rooms are really spacious.  The beds were massive and SUPER comfortable.

I loved how they had multiple seating areas, including a couch and a breakfast nook, complete with a wet bar, dishes, refrigerator, Nespresso, popcorn maker, etc.

Also, this is the mini-bar of dreams: half-sized bottles complete with fresh lemons and limes to make yourself a cocktail.

The bathrooms were also really roomy and featured Malin + Goetz products.

The grounds are perfectly manicured and dotted with lemon trees throughout.

Want to take a spin around town?  Complimentary bikes (and helmets), and of course they’re polka dot!

The one thing that struck me when we were there is, how quiet it was.  There’s 28 rooms, but there were times that we didn’t see a single soul, even though the hotel was full.  It made sitting by the fire with a good book and a drink that much more peaceful.

A heated pool with plenty of seats.  The entire hotel is also 21 + up.  Dogs, however, are allowed.  Next time, we’re taking Winnie!

Unfortunately, we didn’t get the best weather; it was overcast and 60 degrees, which is crazy for a place like Palm Springs.  So the hot tub would have to do!

Warm weather treats:  ice cream honor bar next to the pool…yummmm.

There is a small restaurant on-site, that serves food from 11am-5pm everyday.  Two nights a week, they offer dinner.  And the bar is open until 11pm.  We got just some poolside snacks that were very tasty, and there were plenty of gluten free options for me.

Another interesting note is that there are no TV’s on the property, but plenty of books and games.

Also, I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of them, but there are resident dogs!  The owners dogs were hanging out on the property the first day we were there.

Upon check out, you receive blue frosted fortune cookies.  If you’re lucky, maybe your’s will read “You will be back again soon.”

Until next time Holiday House!
