WOW! Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?! I seriously don’t know where November went. So what to wear for Thanksgiving… Coming up with Thanksgiving outfit ideas can always be a challenge; how does one find the perfect balance of looking stylish yet also incredibly comfortable. Because let’s be honest, that’s really our priority!
We will be heading to Chicago on Monday to visit family for the holidays, so I’m starting to get some laundry and packing going, and I wanted to share a few of my favorite ideas for a cute and cozy Thanksgiving.
I honestly do not get very dressed up for Thanksgiving. Anything that’s loose or has stretchy waistbands is the life for me!
Last year, I rocked some sweater pants and a plaid top with heels (sharing some more of those options below!).
That was one of my favorite Thanksgiving outfits because it looked really fancy and chic, but it was insanely comfortable.
What’s your favorite Thanksgiving outfit?!
Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas
1. Sweater Dresses + Boots
Arguably, the classic of all Thanksgiving outfit ideas, especially if you’re heading somewhere cold like us.
You look dressed up enough, but there is plenty of room for the belly to breathe and expand. Choose something loose!
2. Wide Legged Pants + Sweater + Heels or Sneakers
Normally I would never tell you to wear pants on Thanksgiving. If you’re like me, they’d be unbuttoned ten minutes into dinner.
BUT, let me rave about these $35 Old Navy pants. First of all, they’re plaid. More importantly, they’re jersey. AND they’re wide-legged with a stretchy waistband.
Rock with a simple sweater or graphic sweatshirt and sneaks.
3. Sweater Pants + Plaid Shirts + Heels
Sweater-y pants for Thanksgiving. It doesn’t get any better than this.
I rocked my black sweater pants last Thanksgiving with a festive plaid top. Sharing more pairings below.
4. Loungewear
sweater pants ($13) // turtleneck sweater ($20)
Since this is what I’ll be in for 99% of the week surrounding Thanksgiving, I wanted to share a few of my favorite loungewear looks.
5. Leggings + Oversized Sweater + Sneakers
6. Midi Skirt + Tee + Blazer + Heels
This works well for a meet the parents type situation. Cool, but still classy. This outfit says you mean business.
7. Leggings + Cardigan + Tee + Booties
