Confête Woven Bags and Weekend Reads | 8-21

Hi everyone!  Hope you’ve had a great week.  One of the things I’m really excited this week is the collection of new Confête woven bags that we’ve brought in over at the store.

Our Redwoods Backpack ($60) was perfect for, you guessed it, hiking in the Redwoods.

The Pacific City Woven Basket Bag ($52) makes the best chic beach bag.

Our Newport Bag ($58) is the perfect pick for those with a little preppier style.

However, the coolest thing about these bags is they are eco-friendly and handmade by female artisans in Morocco.

We source from a French company, who offers basket shell making to women who live in villages around Marrakech.  They then weave each bag’s shell by hand from Doum palm leaves.

The designer Karine then finishes out the bags in her Moroccan workshop with leather handles and embroidery.  Each bag is made from biodegradable materials, so each comes with a lighter environmental footprint.

Weekend Reads | 8-21

Things are starting to pick back up at the house.  We waited two months for a permit to move a door that was FINALLY approved last week.  So now, we’re working on picking out fixtures and tiling.  Here’s what we bought for our bathroom faucets and shower.

And this tiling situation is incredibly close to what we’re doing.  This is from a renovated house in Portland by Emily Henderson.  She used Pratt & Larson for a textured bathroom tile.  We will probably doing something a tiny bit lighter than this.
