Nothing signals to me that the holidays are upon us like a wave of plaid. Lucky for Tartan types, there are tons of good options out there for every want and need. And today, I’m sharing my favorite way to wear plaid.
Thanks to the resurgence of 90’s fashion this season, we have copious amounts of plaid patterns in just about every color to choose from. It’s one of the timeless patterns that you can wear year after year, and it never goes out of style. I also love the variety of it…check out a guide of plaid patterns: here!
My favorite way to wear plaid this season is a plaid jacket. It’s bold… I know. But I love anything that you can wear leggings and a t-shirt with and still look incredibly stylish.

Plaid Coats
Plaid shirts and/ or sweaters are always a good idea. Another one of my favorite ways to tame tartan is by mixing. Want to mix plaids?!
Tip: Stick to a common color. Look for the secondary color running through your first piece and make that the primary color for your second.
Tip: Opposites Attract. Choose plaids that are totally different like a windowpane print and a classic tartan.
Tip: Size Matters. Mix a large print with a smaller checked one in a similar color palatte.
