One of my favorite trends this summer is Ric Rac or Rickrack, depending on who you ask. Today’s post is dedicated to the return of the Ric Rac dress as well as sharing some of the best Ric Rac styles out there from skirts to accessories.
So what is Ric Rac you ask? It refers to the flat decorative trim that looks like a zigzag.
It’s most closely associated with a homey look, reminiscent of the wardrobe used in Little House on the Prairie. But suddenly this summer, this tried and true trim is cool again!

There hasn’t been a ton of examples of the use of Ric Rac in high fashion recently. Although, Lela Rose’s Resort 2020 collection featured the decorative element on dresses and coats.
To me, summer fashion is all about having fun. Nothing says fun more than colorful patterns, prints and embellishments like Ric Rac. I also love that it feels a little retro.
