Weekend Reads | 1-29

Welcome to another Weekend Reads friends!

This week, I found myself feeling very uncertain.  I was doing a lot of planning for the year, and at every turn, I wondered whether I was making a mistake.

Take that back.  In my mind, I was definitely making a mistake.  Will people like puff sleeves?  Is this the right entryway light?  Do we carry enough products for bachelorette parties?  You really need to blog more consistently!  Ahhh the spiral.

That’s when I stumbled upon this piece on giving yourself grace.

“Giving yourself grace” turned into, somewhat, of a trendy, yoga babble phrase in 2020, but what does it actually mean, and how does it translate into real life action.

Like many of you out there, I suffer massively from imposter syndrome.  I also am a perfectionist, which means I really can never do anything right in my eyes.  To me, giving myself grace means easing up on the doomsday spiral.

The “a slow day at the store means no one is ever going to buy anything ever again and our store will fail” type thinking.  My goal is to work toward reminding myself that after one or two or even three slow days, people start to buy things again (and for gods sake remember we’re in a pandemic!).

Grace means it’s ok to be sad or tired or even a little bit lazy if that’s how you’re feeling that day.

Hawaii will pay you to come and work remotely for a few hours of community service!

The story behind the Dior-Jordans at the inauguration.

I just discovered this jewelry brand, and I love the stories behind their pieces.

Have you been following all of this Gamestop stock craziness?  Redditers have caused GameStop’s stock to soar, essentially sticking it to hedge funds who were betting on the stock falling.  The whole thing can be pretty confusing but highly recommend this piece for those who don’t know anything about stocks and markets.  And this NY Times piece does a great job of adding the human element to the story.

Really into these rust velvet pillows from Etsy.

This olive oil pourer is so pretty.

I’ve become obsessed with this podcast.  It is great story telling about some of your favorite companies.  My favorite seasons so far:  Gallo Wines, Space X vs. Blue Origin, and TikTok vs. Instagram.

This home DIY rattan cabinet is incredible.  I’ve also been tempted to try this for my office.

The $68 little white puff sleeve dress I’m wearing above.

Delicious Super Bowl dips.

Picked up this cute little lilac workout set: top // leggings.

Recently got into this show, and I truly laugh loudly every episode.

Also, posted about this H&M workout set a few weeks ago… definitely skip…a boob literally fell out during yoga at home.  LOL.

We’re in the middle of Whole 30… I made these Turkey Zucchini meatballs this week, and they were so good!  Paired with this classic NY Times tomato sauce (this is my go-to and ridiculously simple).

Still on the hunt for a good console table, here’s a round-up.

I do not like this casting choice.

I saw this book on Grace Atwood’s blog last week, and I’m really intrigued by the premise.

Amazon finds to help reinvigorate your home office.  I’m knee deep in an office redo myself!

I gave in and bought this Kylie lip kit and blush.  Will report back.

Ok, I feel like I need this skin “nectar.”
